 Community Based Ecological Restoration of Degraded Common Lands

This is an outline of a potential public program on ecological restoration of degraded common lands by community action that can support livelihoods of the resource poor.  In this, it  is proposed that the Government of Andhra Pradesh to extend the scope of the GO 464 to cover all initiatives of natural regeneration of common lands and also, to initiate a state level program to address this important and much neglected problem.

Integrating NREG and Rainfed Farming Systems Improvement

Public investments in the form of labour subsidies can ameliorate the situation and help in reviving the health of natural resources in rainfed areas. Improving soil health is an asset building process and is a public good. NREGS is a unique opportunity in this regard.
