Capacity Building Services


Philosophy

Core mandate of WASSAN Group of Institutions is to build capacities of partners for development action. Participatory methodologies; enabling organizational and institutional architecture; supportive policy support (including adequate budgets) are corner stones of capacity building inputs. WASSAN Group of Institutions believes that diversity in capacity building inputsis essential for not only building capacities, but also for utilizing the same. Training program; workshops/ seminars; communication campaigns; hand holding support (post training support services); advisory services by experts; appropriate institution development/ community organizations; systematic project planning/ review systems, research and innovation (pilots/ experiments) are some of the essential ways of building capacities. 

Expertise

WASSAN Group of Institutions has been associated with capacity building agenda since its inception. As part of this mandate, WASSAN Group of Institutions developed essential tools and strategies for building capacities of a diversified situations, partners and projects. Training modules; resource material; manuals; facilitators tool kits; video films; case studies – are some of these products that WASSAN has already developed for this agenda. WASSAN Group of Institutions has necessary and relevant expertize to design necessary policy support, operational strategies and institutional arrangements for large scale, decentralized and professional capacity building services. WASSAN developed “pool of resource persons” on a variety of themes, who worked with WASSAN and other agencies in building the capacities of communities/ project teams, on a number of occasions. WASSAN partners get a comprehensive package of support services that are tailor-made to the situation of each partner.   

WASSAN Group of Institutions has developed a number of communication materials (posters; brochures; facilitator’s tool kits; video films and others) for promoting participatory learning processes, for state funded large scale development projects. (Refer to Table No 2).
