WASSAN (Watershed Support Services and Activities Network), Hyderabad since 1999. WASSAN is a network-based organisation focusing on improving the quality of mainstream programs in natural resources management and livelihoods. It engages actively in policy advocacy initiatives at state and national level mainly related to rainfed agriculture. It also provides field level support services to a large number of watershed development and other programs implemented by the civil society in partnership with communities. Currently, WASSAN has around 300 employees spread in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha and Jharkhand.

Project Coordinator (Natural Farming based Value Chains)

About the Project:
The project aims to strengthen local circular economy through supporting village enterprises and farmers’ institutions that provide critical backward and forward linkages for transition to Natural Farming and increase in farm incomes across three clusters in Satya Sai and Annamayya districts of Andhra Pradesh. The project scope includes eight themes, all which are centred in a Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) in the given cluster- establishing local seed system, bio-input enterprises, agriculture service centres, develop local commodity and fresh produce value chain, establish village enterprises in post -harvest management and primary processing, PGS organic certification and supporting FPOs.

Job description:
1. Coordinate with Thematic anchors and experts to ensure theme-wise Action plans are prepared (and updated) regularly.
2. Ensure action plans are robust and complete and are linked to theme-wise expenditure plans.
3. Ensure activities in each theme align to the overall project and organizational objective for the region.
4. Ensure clear SOPs are prepared and shared by experts in each theme.
5. Ensure team has relevant capacities and adhere to SOPs.
6. Responsible for overall financial planning, control and monitoring.
7. Responsible for preparation and consolidation of quarterly and monthly budgets.
8. Responsible for ensuring the thematic teams deliver commitments with respect to physical and financial achievements – immediately flag delays and work with teams to expedite progress.
9. Follow up with program, project support and Accounts team to ensure timely and proper submission and clearance of bills, payments as per best practices and organization norms.
10. Responsible for ensuring proper Project Communications covering project activities, achievements, impact, lessons; prepare reports and case studies as required.

11. Coordinate with illustrators, designers, video-makers for preparing relevant communication material and handle social media for the project.

12. Has to ensure robust, transparent and timely updation of Project MIS, serving the purpose of reporting as well as internal review and decision-making.
13. Travel extensively to the field sites of project implementation to ensure process hygiene, accuracy of reporting and feedback from the community.
14. Conduct weekly, monthly meetings and maintain the progress tracker.
15. Ensure all donor requirements with respect to reports, data, UCs, field visits and any others are met adequately and in time.
16. Assume greater role in execution with respect to at least two themes- preferably business development for village enterprises and Farmers’ institutions.

Desired Candidate Profile:
1. Candidates should have completed Post Graduation in one of the following disciplines- Business – Rural Management, Agri-Business Management, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Agriculture Economics or B-tech from reputed institutions.
2. Should be fluent in English, Hindi and Telugu.
3. Should be willing to relocate to Kadiri, Satya Sai District -Andhra Pradesh
4. Should have relevant work experience of at least 5 years -managing Development projects as part of CSOs, Govt./Non-Govt. agencies.
5. People with experience of working closely with Community Institutions- SHGs, FPOs at scale will be given preference.
6. Should have good communication and documentation skills.
7. Should be a team player and have the ability to lead the team.
8. Should possess strong technical skills- Excel, Power point, Project Management (preferable)
9. Should adhere to timelines.
10. Should be passionate about Rural Development and working with community institutions, market engagement.

Program Associate (NF Cotton)

Type of Job:

Bhamini, Seethampeta ITDA Region, Manyam District. and must travel extensively across the district.

Name of The Project:
Promotion of Natural Farming-Cotton under Polycropping system in Bhamini Mandal of Parvathipuram-Manyam District, Andhra Pradesh.

About the Project:
The Cotton Farming Specialist will address critical challenges in cotton farming in Bhamini Mandal, Seethampet-Manyam, a tribal district heavily reliant on chemical inputs. The role focuses on promoting sustainable agricultural practices, reducing environmental and health risks, and improving farmers’ economic stability amidst climate change challenges. Documenting and dispersing knowledge related to diverse landraces available to farmers, to promote these varieties in the natural farming and reviving Agri biodiversity.

Job Description:
The Project Coordinator will be-
1. Planning, monitoring, capacity building and implementation of the project.
2. Coordination with multiple stakeholders like Farmers and Govt departments.
3. Working with the partners associated with WSASSN.
4. Supporting organizing of review & planning, agenda development, extending the required support, workshops and consultations at the district and state level.
5. Documentation and Report writing as per the project needs.
6. Organising and participating in district, State level events.
7. Any other work assigned by the team leader when and where required.

Salary:

Salary shall be decided based on the profile of the candidate.

Desired Candidate Profile:
● Candidate having an understanding, experience, and passion for Natural farming methods.
● Candidates with UG in Agricultural sciences, environment, and Life sciences are eligible; BSc (Agriculture –Genetics and plant breeding specialization will be given preference. We are looking for a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a relevant sector
● Experience working in Natural farming, community, NGOs, and CSOs would be an added advantage.
● Candidates should possess good writing skills and project management skills well versed with MS Office, Coordination and communication skills, etc.
● Candidates should be self-driven in bringing in new ideas and to work on policy pathways.
● Candidates should be committed to deliverables.
● Willing to be flexible with work timings.

Job Description:
1. Supervise regular cleaning and maintenance of the office building.
2. Periodic physical verification of assets.
3. Monitor and manage office utilities and minor repair works. Maintain up-to-date records of all office assets and equipment.
4. Facilitate repair, disposal, or replacement of assets as per policy.
5. Act as the receptionist/front desk point of contact for vendors, visitors, and guests.
6. Coordinate travel and logistics arrangements when required.
7. Procurement and regular stock management of office stationery and supplies.
8. Submission of original bills to the Head Office (Hyderabad) in a timely manner.

9. Maintaining the DAK (Letter Register) for incoming and outgoing correspondence.

10. Maintain attendance and registers for employees. Support onboarding logistics for new team members.

11. Manage office planting and basic gardening activities for both indoor & outdoor plants. Ensure regular watering and upkeep of plants in office premises.
12. Assist the Finance and HR teams as needed.
13. Any other task assigned by the concerned authority.

Desired Candidate Profile:
1. Graduate in any discipline; preference given to candidates holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce/Management/MBA/PGDM.
2. 1–2 years of relevant experience in office administration or a similar role.
3. Strong communication skills in Odia, Hindi, and English.
4. Proficient in basic computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
5. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and independently manage administrative responsibilities.

Job Description:
1. Support the design of participatory research frameworks in collaboration with consultants for multi-stakeholder consultations and dialogues focused on the intersection of gender, climate, and nutrition.
2. Facilitate multi-stakeholder consultations and dialogues to identify policy gaps in climate action, with an emphasis on integrating gender equality, women’s empowerment, and nutrition outcomes.

3. Assist in developing and coordinating capacity-strengthening frameworks for workshops involving diverse stakeholders, aimed at addressing the gendered impacts of climate change on nutrition and community well-being.

4. Conduct secondary research to identify gender-specific barriers that communities in Odisha face in accessing government schemes related to climate action and nutrition. This includes analyzing existing literature, policy documents, reports, and case studies to highlight gaps, intersectional challenges, and opportunities for improved access and inclusion.

5. Work in collaboration with the team in documentation of multi-stakeholder consultations and dialogues

6. Synthesize and analyze insights from multi-stakeholder consultations and dialogues to develop evidence-based research outputs, including research papers and articles for publication and dissemination.
7. Assist the consultants in writing policy briefs for publication and dissemination.
8. Perform tasks assigned by the team lead on gender integration across projects in WASSAN.
9. Any other task assigned by the concerned authority.

Desired Candidate Profile:
1. Master’s or bachelor’s with 2 years experiences in Anthropology/Women studies/ Gender Studies/ Population Studies, Development Studies/ Rural Development/Tribal Studies/Social Work/Social Entrepreneurship/Agriculture etc.
2. Candidate’s age must not be more than 40 years.
3. Experiences in participatory research are preferable. Good knowledge on research methodology, data analysis, writing research papers and articles/ Experience in gender related work will be an added advantage.
4. Experience of implementing programs with community especially women groups.
5. Understanding of agriculture schemes, agriculture related livelihoods and women entrepreneurship will be an added advantage.
6. Excellent people and communication skills. Proficiency in English and Odia is mandatory.
