WASSAN (Watershed Support Services and Activities Network) is a prominent non-profit organization committed to fostering economic prosperity alongside ecological security for communities in rainfed regions across India. Since its inception in 1999 and based in Hyderabad, WASSAN has worked intensively in four states and engages extensively through networks in another ten states.

With an annual turnover of approximately INR 40 crores and a dedicated team of over 400 staffs across various locations, WASSAN implements impactful programs focused on natural resource management, rainfed agriculture, and agroecological transformation.


As a network-based organization, WASSAN strives to enhance the quality of mainstream programs in natural resources management and sustainable livelihoods. It plays an active role in policy advocacy at both state and national levels, particularly in the domain of rainfed agriculture. In addition, it offers field-level support services to a wide range of watershed development and livelihood initiatives implemented by civil society organizations in partnership with local communities. Currently, WASSAN has around 400 staffs across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, New Delhi and Jharkhand.

Program Associate (Marketing & Sales)

Role Overview:
The Marketing Sales Executive will play a pivotal role in advancing the market presence of food-based enterprises supported by WASSAN. This role involves developing strategic marketing initiatives, fostering partnerships, and driving sales to ensure the growth and success of WSHG-led millet-based food enterprises. The ideal candidate will combine strategic marketing acumen with hands-on sales execution to achieve revenue targets and expand market reach.

Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote products from WSHG-led millet-based ready-to-eat food enterprises.
● Support branding, packaging, and product promotion initiatives to enhance market visibility.
● Organize and manage participation in exhibitions, trade fairs, and buyer-seller meets.
● Coordinate digital marketing efforts, including social media, WhatsApp campaigns, and product catalogues.
● Identify and establish connections with potential buyers, distributors, and retail outlets for food products.
● Negotiate pricing, volumes, and delivery schedules with buyers to optimize sales.
● Drive wholesale and white-label sales opportunities for SHG products.
● Facilitate enterprise onboarding to urban retail chains and e-commerce platforms.
● Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients while actively expanding the customer base.

● Gather and analyze market feedback on product performance, pricing, and trends.

● Share insights with the team to inform and refine product development.

● Achieve a minimum of ₹2,00,000 sales across all RTEs by the month of Oct across all RTE units and maintain this as the baseline target for subsequent months.

● Develop a monthly sales plan in coordination with the manager & team.
● Ensure consistent and recurring sales orders from local markets surrounding each RTE unit, including retailers, institutions, bulk buyers, and community networks.
● Identify and build new local market linkages to strengthen regular demand for RTE products from the urban markets.
● Track daily and weekly sales performance and submit structured progress reports.

Qualifications & Skills:
● Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
● 2–3 years of experience in marketing and sales, preferably within the FMCG, food processing, or agri-business sectors.
● Strong understanding of food product branding, packaging, and distribution channels.
● Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
● Willingness to travel extensively for sales and market development activities.
● Proficiency in Hindi, Telugu, and English is mandatory.

Compensation & Incentives

● Salary: Rs. 32,000 – Rs. 38,000/- based on experience and skills.
● Incentives: Additional performance-based incentives will be provided, linked to successful lead conversions and sales achievements.

Study on Pesticide/Herbicide Use, Decision-Making, and Availability in Selected Landscapes

Watershed Support Services and Activities Network (WASSAN) invites proposals from qualified agencies, institutions, and individual consultants to undertake a comprehensive study on the application, decision-making processes, and availability of pesticides and herbicides—particularly focusing on the continued circulation of banned and restricted substances. The study will be conducted in selected project landscapes in Deoghar and Koraput.

Interested applicants with relevant expertise in agriculture, agro-ecology, pesticide use, and rural livelihoods are encouraged to apply. The selection will follow a Quality-Based Selection (QBS) process.
